Full Moon: Drawing Down the Moon

Hey Diddle, Diddle: The cat and the Fiddle: The Cow Jumped over the Moon: The little dog laughed to see such sport and the dish ran away with the spoon.

To draw down the moon, lay upon the earth or the floor in the full moonlight as if one were a 5 pointed star.

Stand facing the moon. Begin by clearing the space energetically. If using a sacred geometry formation or circle set it up at this time. A simple way to clear the space is to smudge with sage in a clockwise circle and say: I call upon the Guardians, Helpers, Guides and Angels: the Beautiful Many to assist me in this drawing down of the moon. I clear this space. Only energies of Love and Light are welcome here all other energies must leave now. I Bless you with Love as you return to your source. So be it. Thank you.
At this time light a candle and/or incense and start any accompanying music.
Then, Position your body so that the moon is being gazed upon.
Optional step:
For a Woman: If so desired in an upward cresent shape annoint with an essential oil just below the navel directly upon the second chakra. Essential oils associated with the moon: (lavender, lemon grass, rose, jasmine, and/or sandalwood)
For men: annoint the solar plexus or 3rd chakra if so desired with a lunar associated essential oil (lavender, lemon grass, rose, jasmine, and/or sandalwood) with a simple vertical line.

Breathe in deeply. Hold the breath for a count of 7. Exhale. Repeat 3 times. As you breathe in breath imagine that you are breathing in the moonlight. Breathe in so that your belly extends outward and when you exhale contract your belly inward. This is called Prana Breathing.
Rest and clear the mind allow the moon to light upon you. Feel the Moon. If so inclined call out the Goddess name of the Moon such as Diana or simply Mother Moon, Luna, Goddess of the Moon, Beautiful Moon. The key is to connect with the sacred energies of flow. Ebbing and Flowing are of the Moon. Water Ebbs and Flows. As humans we are comprised nearly 80% of water. We ebb and flow just as the tide does on Earth. We are One.
When the time is right for you, close the circle. Stand up. Face the Moon so you can gaze upon the moon: Bow and say Namaste or Thank You. Thank the Guardians, Helpers, Guides, and Angels: The Beautiful Many. Thank the Earth, God(dess) and all that is. Then simply turn in a clockwise circle and say: I open this circle and bless all with Love. So it is.
For both women and men: After drawing down the moon use the stored energy for prayers/intentions. It is very important to use the energy. Love Creates. Water Blessing, Healing, and Energy work is particularly powerful following the drawing down of the moon.
